Name the key

So far you have found keys from names. From here you also go the other way: a key lights up, and you say which note it is. That is a separate skill, and it gets its own practice.

The map is the same one you learned in level 1: C sits left of the two black keys, F left of the three. Find the nearest anchor, then count.

A lit black key has two correct names — C♯ and D♭ are the same key — and both answers count. Say whichever comes first.

F♯ / G♭

One lit black key, two correct names: F♯ and G♭.

Practise this in the trainer — it opens with this lesson the first time the concept comes up.
