Pentatonics and blues · level L58

Minor pentatonic

The MINOR PENTATONIC is the natural minor scale minus its 2nd and ♭6th: what remains is 1, ♭3, 4, 5, ♭7.

This is THE rock, blues and solo scale — if you have ever heard a guitar solo, you have heard it.

A minor pentatonic is all white keys: A–C–D–E–G. And just like scales, pentatonics have relatives: A minor pentatonic contains the very same keys as C major pentatonic.
