TonicMelodic minor
The harmonic minor's three-semitone gap sounds exotic — awkward for smooth melodies. The MELODIC MINOR smooths it out by raising the 6th as well: 1, 2, ♭3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
A melodic minor: A–B–C–D–E–F#–G#. It is a major scale with only one change — the ♭3.
Classically it is played this way going up and as natural minor coming down; jazz players use the raised form in both directions. This app drills the ascending form.
